LATE 1990S — COMPETITIVE SWIMMING
Where it began.
The nanocell technology in your glove was first applied to competitive swimming. Applied to the forearms, the nanocells increased surface contact area by up to 2.5 times, meaning more water was displaced with each stroke and more propulsive force was generated per pull. The results across three Olympic Games and 13 world records showed that maximising the contact between an athlete and their medium changes everything.
2008 ONWARDS — OLYMPIC CYCLING TO MOUNTAIN BIKING
From water to wheels.
The technology evolved and was next applied to cycling, where the challenge shifted from generating propulsive force to eliminating wasted energy. Applied to the seat, the nanocells reduced lateral movement so that more of each pedal stroke went where it was supposed to: through the bike and into speed. The British Olympic Cycling team went on to claim gold and a new world record. Years of talent, training, and marginal gains made that possible. The nanocell technology was one of those gains.
2008 to Present — MOTORSPORT
Applied at 200mph.
